@@r8malooman I'm well aware my dude... I live in South Australia. I mean as in they had Pontiac gtos sold over in the UK. It was probably just built off that. But I am wrong with the brand, I meant Vauxhall monaro vxr. Got it mixed with USDM

It was built by GRM . Now a 427 but was wounded her as the power steering had packed in on the grid !!! Otherwise we’d have been of up the road

I think you have just made a much bigger deal about it than we have? Not sure how a single reference to it comes across as whinging about it prominently. We could have put the full footage up of what happened to the car after the incident and kicked off about it, but we haven't and won't. There was more damage than just to the dash (as you would have read when someone asked us on Facebook what damage was done) and the dash is not standard, it is a full carbon fibre one, which was destroyed during the recovery. This is a BJR built car, nothing to do with GRM. The dashes were originally OE items that had been modified, then they started changing to these much nicer carbon jobbies.

(spent much of my life in workshops & under Holdens on the infield at Lakeside QLD while others sat at home & stared at screens). Cannot ascertain how knuckle draggers damaged the dash in the car? Can't see how they did that? In any case. There are still plenty of us here in Aus who love our Holdens. Thankyou for investing so heavily in racing one & for demonstrating just how beautifully engineered, competitive & capable an Aust built race-prepped Holden really is to the wider world. Plainly, a solid barrier & cushioning tyre wall needs to be built to catch out of control cars like the offending Bimmer on the outside radius of that left hander where the Bimmer speared off. Purists stupidly resist some such improvements for misguided aesthetic reasons. Had your Holden been a lesser car without the heavy V8 Supercars Mandatory Structural Side Intrusion Solid Framework between driver & doorskin, the recipient of that torpedoing Bimmer might have suffered fatal injuries. The track needs an upgrade or rules prohibiting starting events in flood conditions. Great to see the faithful old Holden is in good hands, getting excercised, maintained in supreme raceworthy condition & running at the front as she should. Touring Car Racing has been a very big deal here in Aust since the early '60s. By the time your car was built, us crazy Aussies had sunk massive fortunes & entire lifetimes into developing truly exciting racing "family" sedans while others invested heavily in prissy sports cars, ridiculously expensive & fragile open wheelers & all sorts of other irrelevant megabuck junk. For many years, Australia's premier race cars were cars any common man could buy from a dealership. We raced what we could afford. Right up until Bathurst 1993, the majority of successful racecars in Aust were built out of family car bodies with improved family car engines. Your car is representative of later developments & should be more than capable of hosing off just about anything else built up until the day she was built. Please keep up the good work. This car you choose to race will bring you great satisfaction so long as her welfare remains in your capable hands. It's a shame to see her biffed about. But, she's Aussie tough & she'll soldier on just like the millions of Holdens still plying Australian roads & tearing around racetracks every day. Will now subscribe to see what else you get up to. ​@@johnbrooks9523 they tried to lift the car by going through the door openings with a strap. The strap went under the carbon dash and no one spotted this before they tried to lift it. Once that was noticed, albeit too late, they then failed to notice the inner and outer door frames are lower than the cage, so the full weight of the car was on those, not the cage, thus damaging both sides. Both carbon composite quarter panel were damaged by straps, plus other thing's too due to incorrect lifting. Even the bonnet was damaged beyond repair, as they hit it with a recovery vehicle, but that is all done and dusted now. No hard feelings or grudges, apologies were made, an amicable solution was had and I am sure lessons were learnt.

It isn't body rolling like it looks. It was something Greg had turned on in the camera, that was auto levelling. If the car actually body rolled like that, it wouldn't make a corner! Check out the Indy circuit video with Greg driving. It was turned off for that run.

@@davidburne9477 He must have been really fond of his doors? Obviously didn't want a Holden to blow them off. I see the AU got blown into the weeds. No fight in that one. It would have been good to see an old Falc fight it out with the Holden. Hopefully the Falcon pilot can find the pedal on the right in time for the next race.
